Spinning plates February 7, 2010

My sister and I were talking about flylady earlier and she likened it to spinning plates. She said that at the beginning, when she started a new task she wondered how she would ever manage to add another task into her life let alone to spin all the plates at the same time.

Today she commented that the currently spinning plates (the sink, the kitchen counters, her bathroom window ledge etc) only need to be touched to keep them spinning. So the task that took 20 minutes to get the plate spinning now takes 2 – 5 minutes to keep it going.

I really liked the analogy of the spinning plates. It is a better way of explaining it than I had used in the last little while. Yesterday I restored my kitchen to order, prepped bread for baking and fed the boys – all in 10 minutes.

It is nice to be flying with a family member (especially when we both got our hoarding from our mother who is quite anti flying at the moment).
